Terms and Conditions

By making a booking, purchasing pottery, attending an event, or purchasing a gift voucher, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. It is your responsibility to read the terms and conditions prior to your visit.

  1. GENERAL

Sam’s Ceramics aims to provide a welcoming, creative environment for all customers. We reserve the right to refuse service or ask any person behaving in a disruptive, abusive, or unsafe manner to leave the premises.

Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times, unless attending a supervised event where otherwise stated.

   2. STUDIO BOOKINGS

Bookings may be made online, in person, or telephone - only if after half an hour before the session. If attended on time, bookings are two hours long and the studio fee at booking is deducted from your pottery session. We request that none painters are kept to a minimum, especially during busy periods, such as school holidays. We request adult painters, do not bring none painters along. As a small business, seats need to be used by those painting. Additional seating may be provided away from the table for more than one extra person. We also request that you do not arrive any sooner than 5 minutes prior to your booking, and tables need to returned at the end of the two hour session. 

Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment or deposit where applicable, this is via email.

If you arrive late for your booking, we will do our best to accommodate you, but your session may be shortened if other bookings follow. We also close at 5:00pm, and sessions must finish by this time. If you need further time to paint your item, a mutual agreed time will need to be arranged to return to complete your item, this would not be on weekends.

  3. CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING

Standard Studio Sessions:

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the booking may be rescheduled free of charge, cancellations must be made by emailing samsceramics@hotmail.com, with the booking name, date and time.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking are non-refundable but may be rescheduled at the discretion of Sam’s Ceramics. Customers who fail to attend without notice will forfeit their booking fee.

Workshops and Special Events:

Workshops and Special Events tickets can be refunded up to 24hrs prior to the event.

Tickets may be transferred to another person if Sam’s Ceramics is notified before the event.

If Sam’s Ceramics cancels an event, customers will be offered either a full refund or transfer to another date.

  4. PARTIES AND GROUP BOOKINGS

A deposit is required to secure party bookings and is non-refundable after 14 days prior to the event. Deposits are refundable if the booking is cancelled by the customer, up to 14 days prior to event.

Final guest numbers must be confirmed no later than 7 days before the event.

The balance must be paid in full on the day of the event unless otherwise agreed.

Where possible, we will attempt to reschedule cancelled parties if sufficient notice is given.

If cancelled by Sam’s Ceramics, 100% of the deposit would be refunded.

  5. POTTERY PAINTING AND FIRING

While every effort is made to ensure excellent results, pottery is fired at high temperatures and occasional faults, cracking, glaze reactions, or kiln issues can occur.

Sam’s Ceramics cannot guarantee perfect results on every item, imperfections are to be expected.

Where an item is damaged due to a firing fault or studio error, we will assess each situation individually and may offer a replacement item or studio credit at our discretion.

  6. COLLECTION OF FINISHED ITEMS

Most pottery is ready for collection within 7-14 days, during busy periods we may exceed this.

Customers will be notified when items are ready for collection where contact details have been provided. We ask the customer contacts the studio if they have not heard about their item after 14 days.

Finished pottery must be collected within 3 months of notification.

Items not collected within 3 months may be disposed of, recycled, donated, or sold without compensation due to storage limitations.

 

  7. GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated.

The expiry date will be recorded at the time of purchase.

Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.

Expired vouchers cannot be redeemed or refunded.

Lost, stolen, damaged, or expired vouchers cannot be replaced.

Any remaining balance after redemption will remain on the voucher until the expiry date.

 

  8. REFUNDS

Refunds will not be given simply because a customer changes their mind after attending a session or participating in an event. Once a customer has painted an item, full payment will be expected at the time of the session.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under consumer protection law.

We show customers their item on collection, and would advise them to closely inspect and make sure they are happy, and also collecting the correct items.

  9. HEALTH AND SAFETY

Customers are expected to follow reasonable safety instructions given by staff.

Sam’s Ceramics accepts no responsibility for damage to clothing or personal belongings arising from normal participation in pottery painting activities.

Children are customers responsibility whilst within the studio.

  10. LIABILITY

Sam’s Ceramics shall not be liable for any indirect loss, consequential loss, or business loss arising from use of our services.

Nothing within these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

 

  11. FAIR USE AND GOODWILL

We understand that exceptional circumstances can arise. Where situations occur that are not covered by these Terms and Conditions, Sam’s Ceramics reserves the right to consider requests on a case-by-case basis and aims to act fairly and reasonably.
